STAGE A · THE IDEA
What a drone actually is
How four spinning rotors beat gravity, what each part of the airframe does, what the two sticks really control. Interactive parts, written work and a quiz. Nothing is marked against a grade.
Drone Pilot 1 is six sessions of drones taught the way pilots learn them. They find out how four rotors beat gravity, then unfold a real drone, pair it, calibrate it and fly it, with a tutor beside every flight. No simulator standing in for the real thing.
HOLY STONE HS19001 · METHOD
Every idea in this course arrives twice. First they see why it works, then they do it with a drone in front of them. Understanding comes before the controls, never instead of them.
STAGE A · THE IDEA
How four spinning rotors beat gravity, what each part of the airframe does, what the two sticks really control. Interactive parts, written work and a quiz. Nothing is marked against a grade.
STAGE B · THE REAL THING
On a drone they set up themselves. Short films made for this course show each step on a real drone, close enough to see which button is pressed. They watch the step, then do the step.
02 · A SESSION
The same shape every week, so students always know what is coming. The drone is in the air by the end of every session.
A quick challenge that picks up exactly where last week finished.
A single idea, explained plainly. Lift, or headless mode, or why the gyro needs calibrating.
A short film showing the step on a real drone, close enough to see which button is pressed.
They repeat it on their own drone, in order, until the sequence is automatic.
Hands on the controller, drone in the air. Every week, no exceptions.
03 · THE DRONE THEY FLY
Supplied by ACROBO in centre and returned at the end of each session. Online, an optional home kit for $49.00 is theirs to keep. Small enough to fly indoors and forgiving enough to learn on. They use the same one every session, so it stops being equipment and starts being theirs.
FIG. 1 · AIRFRAMEFIG. 2 · CONTROLLER · TWO STICKS, EIGHT MOVES

Left stick for height and spin, right stick for direction. It is the standard layout drones use worldwide, so what they learn here transfers to almost any drone they pick up later.
THE EIGHT MOVES THEY MASTER
04 · THE SIX LEVELS
By level two they are flying. By level six they can tell you where drones are going next and why it matters. Every level ends with written work and a quiz. Nothing is marked against a grade, and a wrong answer is never held against them.
TAP A LEVEL TO EXPAND
Pull one apart on screen, find every part, then work out how lift beats gravity and what the controller sticks really do. Rotors, motors, lift and gravity, and the two sticks that steer a quadcopter.
THEY LEARN
How lift beats gravity, what each part of an airframe does, reading a controller.
ASSESSED BY
Interactive workbook and quiz.
05 · HOW YOU WILL KNOW HOW THEY WENT
Can they run the whole pre-flight sequence from memory, in order, without prompting? Unfold, battery, pair, calibrate, unlock, fly. Their tutor notes what still needs a reminder.
A controlled takeoff, a steady hover, a deliberate move and a landing on target, plus the safety rules recited before they are allowed to start.

07 · QUESTIONS PARENTS ASK
Anything not covered here, ask at your centre and you will get a plain answer.
Q01
Do they need to bring a drone? No. ACROBO supplies the drone, the controller and the battery, and they use the same one every week. All they bring is themselves.
Q02
Do they need to have flown before? No. Level one starts with what a drone is, and nobody flies until level two. Nobody is handed a controller before they know what the sticks do.
Q03
Is it safe to fly indoors with children around?Yes. The drone is small, light, and has a guard around every rotor. The motors stay locked until the moment of flight, nobody starts a drone with people close by, and a whole level is given over to the safety rules.
Q04
What if they crash it?They will, and that is expected. The drone is built for it and the guards take the impact. A propeller removal tool and screwdriver come in the kit for the rare occasion something needs swapping.
Q05
Is it just watching videos? No. Each level has interactive parts, written work and a quiz, and a hands-on session at the centre. The films show the step; then they do the step.
Q06
Do they fly a real drone?Yes. Level two is set up and first flight with a real HS190, with a tutor alongside. From then on the drone is in the air every week.
Q07
What do they actually walk away with? The ability to set up and fly a drone unassisted, six workbooks, and the safety rules they can recite before anyone lets them near a bigger drone.

MISSION BRIEFING · FOR THE PILOT
Hey pilot, fly a real drone. First you have to earn the sky.
Level one you pull a drone apart on screen. Level two you open the box. By the end you can fly a 360 flip.
